The altitudinal range in the area around Yunguilla goes from 1300 m.a.s.l. to 3000 m.a.s.l. this means that we have a huge array of species in flora and fauna. We have around 150 species of orchids and our bird list is over 120 species including the chestnut crowned antpitta, the sword billed hummingbird and the plate billed mountain toucan. We have a variety of mammals in the area, which we have been studying over the last 6 years with different organizations and individuals. We form part of a corridor of protection for spectacled bears, 44 bears have been identified in the area and during the studies many other species have been photographed including the jaguarundi, ocelot and puma.
