The conservation efforts for Yunguilla, similar to other local initiatives, such as the San Lucía Cooperative Reserve, the Maquipucuna Reserve, and the Pululauhua Geobotanical Reserve, form a culmination of efforts that contribute to maintaining this important ecosystem.
In the case of Yunguilla, more than the creation of a reserve, the initiatives of hard-working sustainability of its natural resources has permitted them to be move away from the normal relation in which the environmental deterioration is closely tied to the increase in poverty.
